ECOLOGIX™
to Take AccuTemp’s Conservation Efforts to the Next Level!
Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 10, 2007) – AccuTemp Products,
Inc. has launched ECOLOGIX™, an aggressive umbrella program
embracing both new and ongoing energy, water and resource
conservation efforts. The ECOLOGIX initiative, its signature
logo graphic and theme: RETHINK – RECYCLE - RENEW will be
introduced at the North American Foodservice Equipment Manufacturers
(NAFEM) Show, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on October
11-13, 2007, along with new and time-tested equipment that meet
program objectives.
ECOLOGIX is a company-wide program that embraces not only
their steam equipment designs, but how they source components and
supplies and how they conduct day-to-day sales, engineering
manufacturing operations. Initiatives to reduce internal paperwork;
recycle all paper, aluminum and scrap metals; and the purchase and
use of only ENERGY STAR® compliant computer systems, are already in
place.
“We are not newcomers to environmental responsibility. In fact
AccuTemp was founded nearly 15-years ago on innovative, new
technology designed to help operators reduce energy costs, water
usage and food waste,” according to Scott Swogger, AccuTemp’s
President & CEO. “ECOLOGIX is just the latest company-wide
initiative to conserve scarce resources, reduce our carbon footprint
as a light manufacturing company and make it easier for our
customers to reduce their energy, water and lifecycle equipment
costs!”
AccuTemp’s History of Energy &
Water Saving Initiatives Includes:
-
AccuTemp created the connectionless steamer category,
introducing a high capacity steamer that eliminated the need for
water and drain connections, regular deliming with caustic
chemicals and the waste and expenses associated with high water
usage.
-
AccuTemp has the only steamer that incorporates a vacuum pump
that reduces air pressure in the cooking compartment, allowing
water to boil and generate steam at temperatures as low as 150°
F.
-
Steam’N’Hold was the first unit NSF listed as both a steamer
and food holding cabinet, with automatic product hold after
a timed cook cycle, extending just-cooked quality, while
ensuring safe food holding temperatures.
-
AccuTemp was first to offer a choice of 6-, 8- or 12-kW steamer
power input, to accommodate available kitchen circuit capacity
and the actual cooking speed needed by the operator. The
Super-Duty Steam’N’Hold now offers five different power
options, adding a 10-kW and a 17-kW model that deliver even
faster cook times.
-
AccuTemp was first to introduce steam heated griddles (Accu-Steam™)
that deliver uniform cooking surface temperatures, near-instant
heat recovery and higher production rates, allowing use of
smaller, fewer and more efficient griddles that generate less
waste heat and impact on kitchen HVAC Systems.
-
AccuTemp was one of the first steam equipment manufacturers to
embrace the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR®
Program and has more ENERGY STAR compliant steamer models listed
than any other manufacturer.
·
The Evolution™ Series Steamer has now
raised-the-bar on boilerless, connected steamer technology,
combining performance and dependability, while using considerably
less water than competitive boilerless models.
·
AccuTemp now offers steamers that are RoHS Directive
(Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical &
Electronic Equipment) compliant.
“The ECOLOGIX initiative is designed to build on these past
efforts and motivate us to: RETHINK existing design precepts,
RECYCLE all renewable resources and RENEW our
commitment to responsible corporate stewardship and to helping our
customers in their efforts to think and act GREEN”, according
to Swogger.
