Fast Track… Fast Food

Things move pretty fast at Finish Line Events. As a subsidiary of Speedway Motorsports Incorporated, owner of six major NASCAR super speedways, a couple of minor league baseball fields, a few drag strips and dirt tracks, there’s always lots of action. And all that action brings huge crowds that need to be fed. One event can draw as many as 200,000 hungry fans.

So when Finish Line Events needs equipment to cook food for all those people, they turn to AccuTemp Products. Each Finish Line Events location has several Steam'N'Hold™ units. The Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth alone has 48 AccuTemp steamers.

So why is Finish Line Events sold on AccuTemp? According to Van Moser, National Concessions Purchasing Manager, a major factor is ease of use. At the concessions, 99% of the labor comes from volunteers. So for every event new people come in and have to be trained on how to operate a steamer. With the Steam'N'Hold™ that only takes about five minutes. The steamers are easy to use and it’s almost impossible to overcook food in a Steam'N'Hold™.

Another reason Finish Line Events buys AccuTemp steamers is their reliability. Steam'N'Hold™ steamers are designed without the boilers (sometimes called “steam generators”) that conventional steamers have. So the Steam’N’Hold™ is not susceptible to the problems that plague other steam cookers.

By steaming hot dogs and rethermalizing other foods such as precooked chicken and hamburgers, they save thousands of dollars. Eliminating messy fryers and grills from some of their facilities saves Finish Line Events time and money in clean-up, too.

Finish Line Events estimates they’ve cut their clean-up time in half. Steam'N'Hold™ steamers can also be moved just about anywhere. The dirt track in Charlotte, North Carolina has no permanent concession buildings. So on race days they erect tents and wheel in AccuTemp steamers to cook with. Since Steam'N'Hold™ steamers don’t need water or drain connections, set-up is easy.
